Here are three essential preparation tips for spring home sellers.

On May 1, we typically see a wave of homes hit the market because kids are getting out of school and families are planning their summer moves. If you list before May 1, however, you can get your home on the market before the big rush and help it stand out because there aren’t a lot of homes on the market to compete against.

If you’re thinking about listing your house this spring, there are three important things you need to do to prepare your home for sale:

1. Floors. Make sure you get your carpet cleaned, or you could just swap it out entirely. We can connect you with some contacts that will get the job done quickly and for a fair price. A lot of people are putting in tile floors or luxury vinyl plank floors as well.

“If you have good curb appeal, buyers will get more excited about your home.”

2. Wall paint. It’s easy to paint a wall, and a gallon of paint costs only about $30. It will bring you a few thousand dollars in return. Two of the top colors for 2022 are Agreeable Gray and Swiss Coffee by Sherwin Williams.

3. Enhance your curb appeal. Make sure your lawn is cut, weeds are pulled, and any dirty areas in front of your home are power washed. If your home looks good from the curb, buyers are going to be more excited about seeing the inside of it.
